New Delhi’s International Airport is the most important gateway to India. Located southwest of the Indian capital, the airport is a central connector between India and the rest of the world as it serves as a hub for a number of Indian airlines.

The new Terminal 3 will be the world’s second largest airport terminal. Set to be operational by 2010, in time for Commonwealth Games, the 2 billion USD project will stretch over 520,000 m2 and will be able to accommodate 34 million passengers yearly. The expansion also includes a 4430 meters long runway which will become Asia’s second longest runway.

To ensure the project is completed in time for the Commonwealth Games, the construction timetable has been compressed to just 39 months. This highly ambitious project will require the fast-tracked project collaboration of and some 70 firms to meet the aggressive schedule.
